Area Rug Care | Baker Valley Floors

Daily area rug care is a simple process. By vacuuming your area rug, you can help ensure that dirt, dust, and other debris do not build up within the fibers. This is key in making sure your area ages well, as the debris can give your area rug a worn and dirty look. Vacuuming every day, or every couple of days, and encouraging guests to remove their shoes before entering your home will help to keep your area rug looking great for the long haul.

You can also move your area rug periodically to ensure that fading does not occur via sun damage.

Area Rug Spills & Stains

Depending on the type of area rug spill, how you decide to address it will vary.

If the mess is solid, it can be vacuumed or brushed away. Doing so in a prompt manner will help to ensure that debris does not settle into the area rug, causing long-term damage. When in doubt, consult your manufacturer.

For liquid spills, act fast. Begin by soaking up the substance with a dry cloth before dabbing it with warm water. There are many cleaning solutions available to you, depending on the size and severity of the stain. If needed, consider selecting one of them. Test any new solutions before using them on your area rug.
